Counseling for Life's Hard Moments - While Living Abroad
Whether it’s career changes, relationship struggles, grief, or identity shifts, I help you navigate life’s challenges and work through the emotional impact, while also addressing the added strain that can come with living internationally.

Living abroad doesn’t pause real life. Illness, career changes, family transitions, and life’s hurdles still happen — often while you’re far from familiar support and without the safety net you might normally rely on.
“Relocating can be lonely and stressful. Erin’s emotional support and practical tips have had a huge impact on how happy and settled I now feel.”

Here are some questions that may feel familiar:
Do you feel lonely or disconnected, even after months or years abroad?
Are you questioning who you’ve become — or where you truly belong?
Are you carrying grief for people, places, or versions of yourself you’ve left behind?
Has life abroad affected your relationships, confidence, or sense of self?
Do you feel like an outsider, even when you’ve “settled in”?
Have you faced major life changes — like career transitions, health challenges, parenting struggles — far from familiar support?
If some of these questions have been sitting with you, you don’t have to carry any of it alone.

Hi, I’m Erin
For over 20 years, I’ve worked as a licensed clinical social worker supporting adults through grief, major life transitions, and the identity shifts that often reshape us.

I now focus my work on people living abroad — individuals facing life’s challenges in a culture, system, or support network that feels unfamiliar. Illness, grief, loss, job changes, parenting transitions, and personal changes like identity shifts can all feel harder when you’re far from family, friends, and familiar resources.

Having relocated multiple times myself, including from the United States to the Netherlands, I understand how living internationally can intensify both the meaningful and the difficult parts of life.

My role is not to fix or rush that process, but to offer steady, thoughtful space as you work through what you’re carrying and regain a sense of stability.
With guidance and support, you can feel happier, more settled, content, and confident in your life abroad.
