Hello, I'm Erin,

For over 20 years, I’ve helped people navigate life’s changes — from everyday challenges to major transitions. As a counselor, consultant, and facilitator for internationals and entrepreneurs, I support individuals and families in managing life’s shifts while living abroad, helping them feel grounded, understood, and empowered along the way.

Originally from the USA, I’ve lived in four very different states — Idaho, Minnesota, Washington, and Massachusetts — before relocating to Amsterdam in 2017 when my son was four. Living abroad myself, I know firsthand both the joys and the challenges that come with international life: the excitement of new opportunities, the bittersweet moments of leaving home, and the ongoing process of adapting to change.

Outside of work, I’m an avid runner, rower, and spin-class enthusiast — and I only exercise consistently when it’s alongside friends. Connection matters to me — whether through movement, conversation, or shared experience — and I bring that same value to the work I do with clients.

HOW I WORK

I provide counseling in English, blending solution-focused and person-centered approaches within a trauma-informed framework. I specialize in supporting clients through grief, loss, and life transitions, including both the visible and invisible challenges that often come with living abroad.

My approach is steady, reflective, and collaborative. You’ll have space to process difficult emotions while also exploring clarity, next steps, and practical strategies to move forward in your life.

I also believe that movement can be part of emotional processing:

  • In Amsterdam, sessions can be Walk & Talks

  • Online sessions are available if that’s more convenient

Beyond individual counseling, I facilitate:

  • Netwalking sessions and occasional community gatherings for internationals — a space for reflection, connection, and shared support

I am also available for:

  • Corporate consultations, workshops, guest speaking, podcasts and group facilitation

EDUCATION

  • Master's Degree, School of Social Work, University of Washington, 2003
