Back in your home abroad after a trip to your home country?Ā

šŸŒ Coming back after visiting your home country can be a swirl of emotions. You might be feeling homesickness, culture shock, post-holiday blues - remember - it’s all normal.

ā˜€ļø Here are someĀ tips to help you feel better:

Ā 1. Ease back into your routine (summer in NL is slow—shops are closed, the streets are quiet, people are still on holiday – this can help to ease back into your routine).

Ā 2.Ā Reach out to a local friend. Get together for coffee, or better yet - ice cream!

Ā 3.Ā Find something to do that is unique to the place where you live: Here in the Netherlands you can try to paddleboard the canals, have a picnic by the canals and watch the boats go by, catch a festival, visit the activities of Sail Amsterdam (https://www.sail.nl), or head to the Dutch seaside.

Ā 4. Move your body daily—walk, cycle, anything to get outside. Go for a warm summer evening walk, enjoy the last days of summer, while getting in your movement.

ā˜€ļø Take it easy if you can and give it time. You will settle back in and feel like yourself again.Ā
