Did you read the first two posts in the series?
1️⃣ In September Shifting I shared ideas for easing the fall transition after summer, like adding a little daily movement. A walk is my go to recommendation always! But do what feels good for you.
2️⃣ In Living Well Through Transitions Abroad I focused on the emotional side of change and suggested writing down one positive moment each evening to help build resilience.
3️⃣ Now, let’s talk about long-term adaptation. Life abroad isn’t just about short-term transitions; it’s about building habits that support you over time.
Here are a few habits you can start today:
☕ Nurture your community: Reach out - texts, chats on the street, coffee dates - small moments matter and add up over time.
🎉 Celebrate wins: Language progress, social connections, or work milestones are worth recognizing and celebrating.
🌏 Find meaning in relocation: Reflect on why you’ve relocated - travel, new culture, different lifestyle? What gives your life abroad meaning?

📝 Keep this habit list handy:
Notice your strengths daily.
These practices grow resilience and can help with feeling like you belong in your new home.
